In silent sheds across Ireland, fear is the only constant. Mums are locked away, forced to churn out litter after litter, their bodies broken, their eyes vacant.

They lie on cold, hard ground; their vulnerable pups nuzzling into filthy, matted coats for any comfort they can find. This is the dark truth of the cruel breeding practices that have historically earned Ireland the grim reputation of, “the puppy farm capital of Europe”.

Right now, these tiny pups, torn too soon from their traumatised mums, are being hurried into the hands of unsuspecting buyers. This shameful, cruel tradition must stop.

Fighting for an urgent review of the Dog Breeding Establishment Act 2010.
Calling for stricter standards, like sufficient staff-to-dog ratios, to guarantee every dog receives proper attention and care.
Demanding a more transparent system by requiring all breeders to be on a central database, making it easier to monitor and regulate the industry.
Empowering prospective and current dog owners with the knowledge to identify a healthy pup and avoid supporting unethical practices.

Together, we can highlight the urgent need to improve dog welfare standards and ensure the legislation is properly enforced so that negligent and abusive breeders are punished.

Together, we can make sure that every dog has the chance to know kindness and end cruel breeding practices for good.
